What you agree to
When you apply, we ask you to agree to receive documents from us electronically and to sign electronically. This disclosure explains what that means. Please read it and keep a copy: print this page or save it.
Your consent covers the application you make and, if you go ahead, any offer, agreement and account that result from it, for as long as that account is open, unless you withdraw it.
Which documents this covers
- Disclosures and notices about your application, including notices that we need more information and notices of our decision.
- Offers, agreements, guaranties and any changes to them.
- Schedules, statements, payment receipts and notices about your account.
- Any other record we are required, or choose, to give you in writing.
How we deliver them
We place documents in your client portal and email you that a document is ready. For your security, documents that contain your financial details are not attached to email; you open them in the portal, where you can read, download and print them.
A document counts as delivered when we place it in your portal or email it to the address you gave us, even if you do not open it. Please check your email and your portal regularly.
Signing electronically
When an agreement is ready, you sign it on screen through the portal or through the electronic signature service we use. Your electronic signature has the same effect as signing on paper. We keep a record of how and when each document was signed, and the signed copy is placed in your portal.
What you need
- A computer, tablet or phone with an internet connection.
- A current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
- Software that opens PDF files, which most current browsers include.
- An email account that you can open, and enough storage to save documents, or a printer.
By agreeing in the application, you confirm that you can open this page, open a PDF file and keep a copy. If what you need changes in a way that could stop you opening or keeping our documents, we will tell you, and you can withdraw your consent without charge.
Paper copies
You can ask for a paper copy of any document at any time, through your portal or the contact page. There is no charge for paper copies. Asking for a paper copy does not withdraw your consent.
Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time, without charge, by telling us through your portal or the contact page. After we have had a reasonable time to act on it, we will send documents to you on paper, by post.
- Withdrawing does not affect documents we gave you electronically, or signatures made electronically, before it took effect.
- If you withdraw before an agreement is signed, completing it on paper can take longer.
Keeping your details up to date
Tell us straight away if your email address changes, through your portal or the contact page. Until you do, we will keep using the address we have.
