What this policy covers
This policy covers rocksolidfinancing.net, the online application, the client portal, and the email, phone calls and text messages that go with them. It explains how Rock Solid Financing (“Rock Solid”, “we”) handles information about the people we deal with: business owners, guarantors, applicants’ staff, partners and visitors to the website.
We provide financing for business purposes only. A partner bank or funding source that funds a request has its own privacy policy, which it will give you.
What we collect
What you give us
- Contact details: name, email address, phone numbers and the business’s address.
- About the business: legal and trade names, entity type, tax identification number, formation state and date, years in business, industry, website and banking details.
- About owners and guarantors: name, home address, date of birth, Social Security number, ownership share, title and contact details.
- About the purchase: the equipment or goods, the seller, the price, the amount requested, and the term and deposit you prefer.
- Documents: bank statements, quotes and invoices, driver’s licenses, voided checks, tax returns, financial statements, insurance certificates and anything else you upload.
- Messages: what you write to us through the website or the portal, and notes of our calls with you.
What others give us
- Credit reports: business credit reports, and consumer credit reports about owners and guarantors who have authorized us to get them.
- Verification: information that confirms what an application says, such as the business’s registration and the identity of its owners.
- Partners: when you come to us from a partner such as an equipment seller, the details you asked that partner to send, for example a dealer’s quote.
- Partner banks and funding sources: their decision on a request we placed with them, and the terms they offer.
What is collected automatically
- Technical details: your IP address, browser and device type, and the date and time of each request, kept in our security logs.
- One cookie: when you start an application or sign in, we set a single cookie that keeps you signed in and protects your forms. It ends when you sign out or after a period without use.
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or cross-site tracking.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and call you back when you ask us to.
- To review an application: to verify the information in it, check credit with the authorization given, and decide whether and on what terms to make an offer.
- To prepare, sign and keep agreements, pay sellers, and collect and record payments.
- To send you notices, documents and updates about your request, application or account.
- To place a request with a partner bank or funding source, when you agree to that in the application.
- To prevent fraud, protect our systems and the people who use them, and keep records of who did what and when.
- To meet our legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
- To improve this website and our service, using information we hold already.
Who we share it with
We share information only as this policy describes:
- Partner banks and funding sources, when you agree in the application that we may place your request. We tell you which partner before you accept any offer.
- Credit reporting agencies, to get credit reports with your authorization and, where the law allows, to report how an account is paid.
- The seller of the equipment, as far as needed to confirm the purchase, arrange delivery and pay them.
- The partner who referred you, only with your permission and never including your credit details.
- Service providers who host this website and store its records, deliver our email and text messages, and handle electronic signatures and payments. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities and others where the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Rock Solid, our customers or others.
- A buyer or successor, if Rock Solid’s business or an agreement is sold or transferred, under this policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with others for their own marketing.
Text messages
We text you only if you agree to it, and agreeing is not a condition of any financing. Mobile phone numbers and text message consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The text message terms explain how to stop texts at any time.
How we protect it
- Every page and file travels over an encrypted connection.
- Documents you upload are encrypted when stored, kept outside the public website, and opened only by you and Rock Solid staff who need them.
- Staff sign in with a password and a second code from an authenticator app.
- Access to applications, documents and settings is recorded in an audit log.
- Sign-in and upload links we email you expire, and can be used only for their purpose.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and for as long as the law requires us to keep records of credit applications, agreements and payments. After that we delete it or remove what identifies you. An application that does not go ahead is kept for the period the law requires for applications, then deleted.
Your choices
- Correct your information: send a message in your portal or through the contact page.
- Stop text messages: reply STOP to any text from us.
- Email: we email you about your request, application or account. We do not send marketing email without asking you first.
- Paper copies: ask for them at any time, as the electronic communications disclosure explains.
- Your rights: depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Ask us, and we will answer as the law requires. We may need to confirm who you are first, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep.
